Halloween Makeup
As Halloween is coming round the corner, a lot of ideas pop into our heads about what we will be doing with our makeup, some of us like to keep it simple and others prefer to go all out and use SFX makeup. We all are prone to using the classic face paints from Snazaroo however it has become a mission for the makeup brands we know and love to get more involved with the Halloween collections.
But where can we buy simple SFX makeup which is affordable?
Looking through the makeup aisles can be daunting, especially if you do not know about the quality and pricing of some of these brands. Makeup Revolution and Nyx Cosmetics took the crowns for the most dedicated brands to release special Halloween kits this year.
Makeup Revolution push out more and more palettes every month, however for Halloween they didn’t hold back releasing not only eyeshadow palettes but SFX face paint palettes.
Luckily Makeup Revolution, a brand which has burst out into the makeup world, released a special collection for Halloween, which includes everything we need to create some really easy or really detailed makeup looks for this coming Halloween.
Also their packaging for this halloween season is really adorable, from the spooky skull bottles for their nail varnishes and liquid highlights to their eye pressed highlight pans.
The best things about Makeup Revolution is that it is affordable and the pigment in the shadows are there. It is also not tested on animals and vegan. The price of the palettes are extremely good for the quality, most of their collection for eyeshadow palettes are around £4-£10 with a few larger ones being a little more.
Here are some looks which I have created for Halloween, I have listed all the products which I have used with the looks.

Products used;

- ELF Putty Primer (£8)
- Makeup Revolution; SFX Whitebase (£3)
- ELF 16hr Camo Concealer; (£6)
- Jeffree Star Cosmetics Magic Star Powder in Translucent (£21)
Eyes;
- Jeffree Star Cosmetics; Blood Sugar Palette. (£48)
- Jeffree Star Cosmetics; Alien Palette (£48)
- Ardell Lashes 3D FAUX MINK LASHES 853 (£10)
- Makeup Revolution SFX Fake Blood (£3)
Lips:
- Jeffree star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lip:
Unicorn Blood & Weirdo: (£16)
- Jeffree Star Cosmetics Lip Liner; Weirdo (£13)
This is one of the most simple looks to be able to create, using reds and blacks to really emphasize the eyes being injured. Using the Makeup Revolution SFX white base can give a more dramatic tone to this style as blood is dripping from your eyes.
A tip for this look is to leave the blood to the very last minute, also be ready with a towel around your neck as this blood will run down your face and drip onto clothes. Using a brush you can get it close to your eyes, but make sure to use a black eyeshadow so that you don’t need to go too close as it will go everywhere. The blood is vegan so it can go anywhere, but just be ready to find your skin stained after a night out, but using an oil based makeup remover will help.

Makeup Revolution Halloween SFX Ultimate Face Paint Palette (£6)
Mehron 3-D Gel (£5.17)
This dripping skull look is a little harder to do that the bloody eyes look, mainly as it involves using 3-D gel to achieve the final look, it is fun to work with however can be a little bit annoying as it dries in the bottle extremely quickly, so keeping the bottle warm is a must. It dries nicely on the skin however and gives that final effect of your skin dripping away from your face, revealing the skeleton underneath. Shading for this look will be your best friend, use brown eyeshadow to give depth to the look.
Now one of the best tips for this look is using lipsticks for the teeth section, mainly because facepaint is normally water-activated meaning that when you start drinking or eating at your party, it will start to smear and rub off. Look into the best matte liquid lips you can find, here I use Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid lips as they are known to last all night.
There you have it, instead of being a basic ass skull with crusty face paint, try out these fabulous looks to make your halloween costume pop.
Happy Halloween Everybody x
