Catch the flavour: Ravioli Wang in Siena
If someone had told me that Siena would be the gift that keeps on giving I’m not sure I would have been convinced. Siena is a small Tuscan town around 1 hour away from Florence and Pisa. I had the pleasure of staying in Siena in July and I can say I was honestly blown away. Siena is an incredible Italian town filled with history and a strong culture. I will definitely elaborate more on my Tuscan adventures but before I do it is utterly imperative that I draw your attention to the coolest non traditional restaurant in Siena.
It’s no secret that I love to eat Chinese food, so imagine how excited I was to spot Ravioli Wang while strolling through Siena one summer’s day. Ravioli Wang - translated as Dumpling King in a mix of both Italian and Chinese, is a dumpling restaurant located in the heart of Siena (There are actually 2+ branches). We enjoyed lunch here so much we actually came back a second time for dinner. The multi coloured Jiaozi were filled with a variety of flavours. There were traditional Xiao Long Bao as well as Prawn and Vegetarian options too. Not photographed was a delectable fiorentine beef in black bean sauce. We also tried deep fried Tofu which was absolutely delicious.
Finally the pièce de résistance was an absolutely incredible Green Tea Tiramisu. Perhaps the best tiramisu I have ever tasted! If you want to find out more about the history and more information behind the wondrous dumplings check out their their own words on the official website here.
Ravioli Wang can be found at Viale Vittorio Emanuele II, 38, 53100 Siena SI, Italy. Drop by and try it for yourself.
